Captain TJ has been married for 30 years and he and his wife have two boys, they have spent their entire lives right here in North Carolina. He has spent many of his 51 years fishing local creeks and rivers and when he wasn’t fishing you would find him deer hunting. He retired from the local Volunteer Fire Department after serving over 20 years where he also was a Captain. Captain TJ currently serves the community in his career Fire Department as a Battalion Chief with 28 years of service. With a passion for the outdoors and retirement ahead is now providing opportunities to share his experience with others.

How We Work With You

Tailored Solutions for Fishing

Scheduling tailored fishing experiences created to challenge the angler, not to pull fish from a pool. Fishing artificial baits, provided by Abracadabra, targeting a variety of species at varying depths depending on the season. I will pick you up from a predetermined dock location and after a brief safety review we will head to our first fishing site where I will introduce our initial tackle and answer any questions. From this point I scout and chase locations while you relax and enjoy the fishing. Your vessel will be a Robalo Cayman 226 with a shallow draft and two large casting decks to reach the flat marshes. Site fishing is as fun as it gets; If you’re a fly fisherman bring your weapon of choice early season before the water gets stirred by traffic. I keep all unnecessary equipment stowed allowing for snag free casting platforms. I also keep my client numbers to a minimum to ensure you have all the space you need to relax and cast without obstacles

Don’t stress yourself if you’re not a long range dead on target caster, that’s my job. I will do my best to position the boat for you as often as possible. If a bad cast requires a cut/ break and retie well that’s just part of the game, and as a firefighter I always need practice with my knots.
